MacOS

Problems Using SBGrid after an OS upgrade

  • /programs/ no longer present; this can be caused by loss of /etc/synthetic.conf, please check instructions for setting this up
  • GUI programs not launching after upgrade; this can sometimes be resolved by re-installing XQuartz and rebooting

Software verification on macOS

Note that changes to application signing verification in recent versions of macOS may require a work-around for ChimeraX and possibly other signed app bundles.

Linux

NVIDIA driver and CUDA toolkit

Some applications require the NVIDIA CUDA toolkit in addition to the driver. The toolkit is not included in most Linux distributions and must be installed separately from the NVIDIA website or your package manager.

Ensure ptxas is in your PATH after installing the SDK. Examples of SBGrid applications requiring the CUDA SDK include AlphaFold2 on certain NVIDIA GPUs.
